“Eve” is probably one of this summer’s most anticipated dramas, thanks to its intense revenge plot and an incredible cast. But there’s something even more dramatic than the story that’s making viewers anticipate it even more. It’s the jaw-dropping fashion and makeup worn by Lee Ra El, played by Seo Ye Ji, who captivates the screen with her charismatic and alluring presence. She seeks justice for the death of her father and displacement from her mother, making the powerful people at play pay for their wrongdoings. And she does this all while wearing high fashion couture. Seo Ye Ji wore an endless collection of stylish outfits, and there’s definitely going to be a lot more in the coming episodes, but here’s a look at some of her best looks so far:
Sophisticated and structured workwear
Ra El has built a good reputation as one of the parent event coordinators at an exclusive kindergarten where the children of the rich and famous attend. It’s her job to meet with the parents and organize social events, so it’s no wonder why most of her outfits look professional, clean, yet with a touch of glam. Her daily workwear includes crisp button-down tops, matching suit pieces, and minimal jewelry.
She also often pairs her outfits with fabulous long coats.
What makes Ra El even more alluring is her talent as a dancer. Having spent time in Spain, she has learned to speak different languages, trained in dance, and mastered playing some musical instruments. This gives her a worldly appeal, a woman who has traveled the world and lived her best life. But what many don’t know is that she is a mysterious figure with a secret plan. As a dancer, she wears glamorous and sparkly outfits onstage, and she doesn’t forget to stay stylish even during practice too.
Whether it’s an orientation party at the kindergarten or a prestigious social gathering at a private mansion, Lee Ra El knows how to make an entrance. Everyone’s heads turn her way as she sashays down the ballroom in elegant outfits that show off her svelte figure.
Some designer masterpieces are meant for the runways and photo shoots because of their otherworldly and extremely luxurious aesthetic. It’s probably not practical for everyday wear, but Ra El throws all the rule books out when it comes to fashion. Every day is a runway for Ra El. Attending a kid’s party? She wears a statement green dress from Eli Saab. Having a confrontation with Han So Ra (played by Yoo Sun)? She chooses a voluminous chiffon skirt with a matching tweed jacket by Korean fashion brand J.Alley. Her dazzling fashion is meant to intimidate her enemies, and it’s working pretty well for her so far!
To create a strong, sophisticated, and cold image, Ra El often wears black with a touch of military-style. The rigidness of her black outfits reflect her cold exterior, as she aims to protect herself from looking weak and naive when facing her opponents.
Relaxed off-duty looks
Even in her downtime, Ra El still looks put together while maintaining an air of effortlessness. She wears looser outfits and adds daily pieces like jeans and knitwear.
Big bows and ruffles
Two of her signature styles are pieces with big bows and dramatic ruffles. This adds volume and sophistication to her looks, as her character wants to portray an image of someone who is elite and on top of her game.
Ra El uses her charm to seduce the CEO of a conglomerate company, Kang Yoon Kyun (played by Park Byung Eun), and she wears a luxurious silk wardrobe that he can’t resist.
To top off her looks, Ra El wears custom fascinators as a formal headpiece. This adds uniqueness and elegance to her outfits.
Avante garde makeup
Just like her wardrobe, her makeup styles are consistent with her larger-than-life fashion aesthetic. One of the standout looks are the bleached eyebrows and green eyeliner topped with a coral lining, which added some color to her black outfit. Some K-netizens, however, commented that this look may be too distracting for serious scenes. But despite the criticism, this makeup style matches her character’s flair for the bold and unexpected.
For her performance makeup, she wears more sparkle in her eye shadow than usual, adding a more glam and dazzling touch.
To balance her other looks, Ra El wears understated makeup with emphasis on her eyes. She matches her winged tip and curled eyelashes with matte lipstick, creating a more natural look.
Bonus: Fierce style by Han So Ra
When it comes to fashion, we can’t leave out her main rival, Han So Ra, who’s also dishing out equally stylish looks all throughout the drama. Viewers are excited to see not only a battle of wits and power but also who’s the best dressed among the two leads.
